HD

HD is a second file, or it is absent

HD is listed only when it is a different file from the standard MP4. It is not a 4K conversion.

What HD means on this site

The lookup can return more than one video address for a single post. The standard one is the play file. Another field is treated as HD only when it is filled in and it is not the same URL as the play file. When those conditions hold, you see a button labeled MP4 HD without watermark, and the size is shown if the lookup included a byte count. When they do not hold, the button is left off. We do not upscale the standard file, relabel it, or offer a 4K export.

HD here is also not a quality slider. You cannot pick 720p versus 1080p versus a higher rung. You get the addresses the source returned, or you get fewer buttons. A watermarked file is a third address, shown only when it differs from the play file. Audio is a fourth, shown only when a music URL is present. Photo posts skip this video list and show stills instead, which is why a slideshow will not grow an HD video button.

Save it, then check that it plays

  1. Copy the Share link from a video. Short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links work.
  2. Paste it above and submit. Look at which buttons rendered, not at what you hoped would render.
  3. If both a standard MP4 and an HD MP4 are there, they are different files. Start with the one you want. If a player on your phone or computer refuses the HD file, use the standard MP4. That note is shown on the result when both exist.
  4. If only the standard file is there, that is the highest copy this lookup offered. Refreshing the page will not manufacture another one.

The no-watermark page describes the standard play file in more detail. “Without watermark” on the HD button uses the same idea: the label follows the file the lookup called HD, and it is omitted entirely when that file is missing. It is not a guarantee that every HD URL is free of a stamp, and it is not a claim that every video has a clean master.

Why the HD button disappears

Creators upload at different sizes. Some posts never had a separate higher file. Some regions or privacy settings mean the lookup returns nothing at all, which is an error rather than a quiet missing button. Rate limits, deleted posts, and blocked ids behave the same way as on the home page. The not-working guide lists those messages in plain language.

File size is a hint, not a certificate. A larger HD file can still be awkward on a slow connection or on a phone with little free space. The browser saves it like any other download. iPhone and Android each have their own save habits, covered in the iPhone and Android browser guides. The optional Android package on the APK page opens this website. It does not unlock a private HD catalog.

Sound is independent. A clip can have HD video and no separate MP3, or an MP3 and no HD. Use the MP3 page when you care about audio first. Nothing on this page is an editor, and nothing here sets a bitrate such as 320kbps.
