When a download does not finish

Most failures on this site are visible in one sentence under the box or in place of the result card. Match that sentence before you try a different downloader. The lookup only knows TikTok addresses, and it only offers files it actually received.

Start with the link

The video box wants a URL on tiktok.com, or on vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com, or the short t host. A caption, a bare @username, or a link from another social site will be refused as not a TikTok address. Add https yourself if you copied a bare host, or let the form add it. Then make sure the link opens the single post. A profile URL points at a person, not at one video, so it will not produce a file list here.

Usernames belong on stories. That page asks for a @name and returns only stories the lookup can still see. An empty story list is not a broken video download. It means there is no active story to show. Expired stories are gone.

Read the message

This post is not available. The usual reasons are privacy, deletion, or a region restriction. Being logged into TikTok on your phone does not help, because this server does not use your TikTok session. Try the link in a browser where you are logged out. If you cannot watch it there, we cannot fetch it.

Too many requests from this network. Wait. The limit is per network, so a VPN or a shared connection can trip it even when you only clicked a few times. Sending the same link in a burst makes the wait longer.

The lookup service did not answer. The upstream did not return usable JSON. Try again shortly. If it keeps happening, write to contact with the URL and the time.

Removed at the rights holder’s request. That id or username is blocked on purpose. Do not look for a mirror on this domain.

No file URL came back. The post may have been recognized but without a play file, HD file, watermarked file, music file, or image list. There is nothing to save.

A card appeared, but the file you wanted did not

That is different from an error. The clean MP4 is omitted when the play address is missing. HD is omitted when there is no separate higher file. A watermarked button is omitted when it would duplicate the play URL. MP3 is omitted when music is empty, including on the MP3 page. Photo buttons appear only for a slideshow image list, explained on photos. Refreshing will not fill an empty field.

If a button starts and then the file will not open, run the lookup again. Signed CDN links expire, and the proxy will say so rather than serve a stale copy. HD files sometimes fail in a picky player. Use the standard MP4 if it was offered. We do not re-encode.

Phone and desktop quirks

On iPhone, Safari may play a video instead of saving it. Use the player’s share sheet, and if Paste fails, long-press the field. Steps are on the iPhone page. On a computer, a blocked popup is rare because the save is a download, not a new window. The PC guide covers the optional extension, which only pre-fills a link.

Ringtone setup is outside this tool. If the MP3 saved, the phone’s sound settings are the rest of the job, as the ringtone page says. For a wider list of limits, use the FAQ. To ask whether you may keep the clip, read is it legal rather than treating a successful save as permission.

When you write in, include the full link you pasted and the exact message you saw. We cannot recover a private video, and we cannot send a format the lookup never returned.
